Terms of Service

Terms of ServicePrivacy PolicyRefund Policy

Save a Seat lets people make pages for their occasions, share one link, collect RSVPs, and — when they choose — sell tickets or collect group gifts and donations. These Terms are the agreement between you and Albert T Clark ("Save a Seat", "we", "us") when you use https://saveaseat.rsvp.

1. Who these Terms cover

Hosts create pages and accounts. Guests view pages, RSVP, claim sign-up slots, buy tickets, or contribute — usually without an account. By using Save a Seat you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use Save a Seat for an organization, you confirm you can bind it to these Terms.

You must be at least 18 to create an account, sell tickets, or collect money. Guests under 18 should use Save a Seat with a parent or guardian's permission. Save a Seat is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information — a parent can make a page for a child's party, but the parent is the account holder.

2. Hosts are responsible for their events

Save a Seat is a tool. We don't organize, run, attend, or vouch for any event. The host is responsible for the event itself — whether it happens, what it's like, its safety, permits, venue rules, age limits, taxes on ticket sales or gifts they receive, and honoring what their page promises.

Hosts are responsible for what they put on their pages and must have the right to use any text, photos, or names they post. Hosts may only use guest information (names, emails, dietary notes, and so on) to run their event — not to sell it or send unrelated marketing.

3. Plans, upgrades and billing

  • Free. Building, previewing, and publishing a page is free, with the limits shown on our pricing page.
  • One-time upgrade. Unlocks premium features for a single event and stays on that event.
  • Subscriptions (Host and Pro, billed monthly or yearly) renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your dashboard; you keep premium features until the end of the period you've paid for.

Prices are shown before you pay and may change; we'll give subscribers at least 30 days' notice of a price increase, effective at their next renewal. Payments are processed by Stripe. See our Refund Policy for refunds.

4. Tickets, gifts and donations

Hosts who sell tickets or collect contributions must connect a payout account with our payment processor, Stripe, and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Money is paid to the host's Stripe account; Save a Seat is not a bank, an escrow service, or the seller of any ticket.

  • Service fees. Ticket buyers pay a service fee shown before checkout (currently 5% + $0.99 per ticket on standard plans). Contributions include card-processing costs and a small platform fee, also shown before checkout. Memorial donations carry processing costs only.
  • Not charity. Group gifts and donations go to the host, not to a registered charity, and are not tax-deductible unless the host separately and correctly tells you otherwise.
  • Public gift wall. If a host shows contributors, your name and note appear on the page unless you choose to give anonymously. The host always sees your name and email.
  • Disputes and chargebacks. Hosts are responsible for refunds, chargebacks, and disputes on their sales. We may hold, reverse, or recover funds where Stripe or the law requires.

5. Things you can't do

  • Post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Use Save a Seat for fraud, fake events, scams, or to collect money under false pretenses.
  • Sell anything other than admission to a real event, or collect money for prohibited purposes under Stripe's rules.
  • Send spam, scrape the service, probe or break our security, or overload our systems.
  • Impersonate someone, or use another person's account.

We may remove content, unpublish pages, pause payouts, or suspend accounts that break these rules or put guests at risk. Where reasonable we'll tell you why.

6. Your content

You own what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and share it only as needed to run Save a Seat (for example, showing your page to the people you share it with and generating link previews). This license ends when you delete the content, except for copies kept in routine backups for a limited time or where the law requires us to keep them.

7. Your account

Keep your password safe; you're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away at support@saveaseat.rsvp if you think someone else has access. You can delete your account at any time by emailing us.

8. Disclaimers

Save a Seat is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it running, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don't guarantee any event, host, or guest.

9. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Save a Seat won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for anything that happens at or because of an event. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid Save a Seat in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

10. Indemnity

If you're a host, you agree to cover Save a Seat's reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your event, your content, your sales, or your breach of these Terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, please email support@saveaseat.rsvp so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Either of us may bring qualifying claims in small-claims court.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll notify account holders by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Save a Seat after that means you accept the new Terms.
